Dear Northand Reader:

This is a letter in response to the article printed in last week's issue by Paul Ryan, titled "Laura Ness is Hot". Instead of ripping into how much of an obvious idiot mr. Ryan is, my anger is more directed to the irresponsibility of your publication for printing such garbage. It is deeply disheartening to open up a local paper and see somebody, who happens to be a very bright young woman, put up on display for her looks instead of her politics. It's called SLANDER. Something that any excuse for journalism should know about. Of course, there would never be an article about how good looking a male politician is. But for some reason, it's a free for all when a female enters the picture.

It is a sad, sad thing when a bright, progressive, and passionate young woman decides to run against a bunch of staunch old white guys and the only press she recieves is about how "hot" she is, or how much somebody disagrees with what her husband has done in the past. When I read Paul Ryan's article, I couldn't believe my eyes. It is completely degrading and humiliating to lower somebody's status simply to the way they look to some horny little moron who can't keep his trap shut- and then, he actually gets PUBLISHED! Bravo, Northand Reader- not only do you guys need some serious editing and a whole lot of changes to your sorry excuse for a magazine, but you also need a lesson in tact and some people who can actually write an article without embarassing or ostracizing someone in the public eye.

Sincerely,
Haley Bonar
